In this edition of Wilson Center NOW, we are joined by Jonathan Brunstedt, former Title VIII Research Scholar with the Kennan Institute and Assistant Professor of History at Texas A&M University. He discusses his Wilson Center project, “Entangled Defeats: The Soviet-Afghan War and the Shadow of Vietnam." Jonathan also highlights his most recent book, “The Soviet Myth of World War II: Patriotic Memory and the Russian Question in the USSR,” which examines official notions of patriotism and patriotic identity in the USSR through the lens of World War II's public remembrance.
