Wilson Center Statement on the Passing of Dr. James G. McGann

"The Wilson Center joins all those mourning the passing of Dr. James G. McGann, Director of the University of Pennsylvania’s Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program. During the past decade we were fortunate to have Dr. McGann’s enthusiastic and unique insight as part of numerous Wilson Center events focusing on the annual Think Tank Rankings he and his team diligently published every year. In addition, Dr. McGann was always happy to lend his advice to Wilson Center authors who relied on his expertise and constructive criticism. This shocking loss will be felt throughout the academic and policy communities.

We will continue to apply his lessons to further enhance our efforts to be a trusted platform and generator of actionable ideas. The Wilson Center sends its condolences to Dr. McGann’s family and colleagues.”
