Morgan Bazilian Joins Wilson Center as Global Fellow

The Wilson Center is pleased to welcome Morgan Bazilian as a Global Fellow where he will work on the geopolitics of energy, with a specific focus on critical minerals supply chains. With over two decades of experience in the energy sector, Dr. Bazilian is a leading expert in energy security, international affairs, energy policy, and investment. He currently serves as the Director of the Payne Institute and a Professor of public policy at the Colorado School of Mines.

Bazilian's first publication as a Wilson Global Fellow, co-authored with Duncan Wood (VP for Strategy and New Initiatives), "The Biden Administration Has Taken Some Bold Steps on Energy, But More Remains to be Done," analyzes Biden Administration's decision to implement the Defense Production Act for five key critical minerals to ramp up domestic production, while also highlighting the potential shortfalls of DPA's implementation. It builds off of the Wilson Center's prior report "The Mosaic Approach," which argues the essential need for a comprehensive strategy, from technology to human capital, to both address vulnerabilities in and strengthen U.S. critical minerals supply chains.
