On May 22, 2019, Dr. Monde Muyangwa, the Director of the Wilson Center’s Africa Program, presented at the 9th African Unity for Renaissance Conference on “Alternative Perspectives for Peace-making and Peacebuilding in Africa,” hosted by the Human Sciences Research Council’s (HSRC) Africa Institute of South Africa (AISA). The conference brought together over 100 leading researchers, practitioners, and policymakers from around the continent to share ideas and best practices under the theme: “Pan Africanism for the 21st Century: Innovative Paths for Africa’s Future Development.” The two-day conference reflected on the continued relevance and contribution of Pan Africanism in Africa’s development.
