Iqaluit Hydro - Electric Project

Qulliq Energy Corporation, operating as Nunavut Power, is initiating a feasibility study on its Iqaluit Hydro-electric Project. The Project consists of the sequential development of two sites connected to the same transmission line. Jaynes Inlet, a 10 to 14.6 MW project, will be built and operated first. Several years down the road, when the City of Iqaluit’s demand for power has continued to grow, the Armshow South site can be constructed to meet this increased demand. The Armshow South site will connect to the same transmission line that will be built for the Jaynes Inlet site. On hold since 2014.
